Hi, I’m Jon Slater

I’m a Graphic Designer, illustrator, Motion Designer, and Video Editor.

Above is a collection of some of my video and motion graphic work, but my primary field of expertise is graphic design and illustration. These include creating seasonal branding packages, sermon series, event packages, and promotional materials (both digital and print).

Here are a few of my favorite projects.

MV Christmas 2023

The concept for this package was to create something cinematic and ethereal. The client asked to incorporate movie poster elements and “clouds in space, with a metallic Christmas”. The background was created using stock images put together in Photoshop. The metallic text was made using Illustrator’s 3-D text function, and then final renders were made in Blender to achieve the desired metallic texture.

Mountain View Fall Seasonal Branding 2023

This package was the product of my direct report at the time asking myself and another designer for several concepts for the new Seasonal branding. I wanted to use colors that would be fall inspired, but bold and aggressive in order to appeal to a target demographic of men 25-45.

Mr.Cactus Series Illustrations & Layout 2023-2024

Something that was always a dream of mine was illustrating children’s books, and when Pastor Daniel Voss approached me, I leapt at the opportunity. Illustrating an entire book was something new for me, and forced me to stretch myself artistically and creatively. Each page was hand drawn and colored using a tablet display. Everything was illustrated and colored in Photoshop. Layouts and text were done using InDesign.
